What anesthesia is used?

There are three basic categories of anesthesia that you need to know about:

General anesthesia
IV sedation/twilight anesthesia
Local anesthesia

At ImageLift®, we prefer to avoid general anesthesia due to the risks involved. Furthermore, it’s widely recognized that local anesthesia with oral relaxing medicine is the safest way to perform a facelift. This is why we perform all of our ImageLift™ Facelifts with local anesthesia. With this technique, you don’t need to go to a hospital or a surgery center for your facelift.

What surgical techniques are used?

At ImageLift®, our surgical approach is based on the fact that many of our patients do not want a traditional facelift or the general anesthesia that it requires. With our local anesthesia ImageLift™ Facelift, we’ll tighten the muscles and use an internal laser to remove fat and tighten the skin. This is done with 3 total incision points. For each ear there is an incision that runs along the tragus, under the earlobe and behind the ear. This placement ensures that the scar is well hidden. The last incision is located just under the chin.

Is it painful?

Patient safety and comfort is one of our core principles here at ImageLift®. The local anesthesia we use for surgery ensures that you do not experience any pain during the treatment process. Additionally, we offer a number of relaxation medications to ease discomfort and nerves during treatment.

I went for my 7 day follow-up to the Image Lift surgery today and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Dr. Castellano was excellent! He was very attentive and listened to your questions and answered honestly. He took time to make sure that you are comfortable with proceeding with the procedure. And then his follow up afterwards was very informative and again he took time to answer questions and make sure you are pleased with the results.

Very detailed in what would work best for me but should have put my budget down as what was suggested is very expensive. Ok so I had finally got to meet Dr Castellano and as soon as he walked in I knew I had made the right choice. Besides his personal, engaging style he possesses a joy in his work that I have not seen in many doctors. It felt like I was in the hands of an artist that was drawing a picture rather than a doctor injecting fillers. I can see the results already! So it was easy after seeing the results of the fillers on my face to proceed forward under consult with the recommendation of Mariluz Fontanez to do either a CO2 Lazer or Mid Lift. I choose the midlift and couldn't be happier with the whole process and the results. I like what I see in the mirror again! It was painless and was out in public in under a week. The result was amazing. The entire staff were also impressed with what I looked like at the one week follow-up. I couldn’t be happier with the results of the procedures I’ve had at Image Lift. I had a mini-lift and upper lid bleph, in mid-October, this year. Dr Rich is so skilled and talented! He’s a true facial artist! Last year he did a lower lid bleph for me. Do I have go to sleep (general anesthesia) for this procedure?

All of our surgical procedures are done under local anesthesia! So there’s no need to go “under” for any of our treatments.
