What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a diverse range of hyaluronic acid (HA) facial fillers. HA is a material that is naturally occurring in the body, which is responsible for helping the skin stay hydrated. HA fillers are carefully formulated to replicate the body’s natural HA, so that upon injection, the formula seamlessly restores facial volume to smooth out lines and wrinkles. With the wide selection of Restylane® products, patients can find an effective solution to wrinkles and lines in areas that include:

What Restylane® Products are Available?

- Restylane® and Restylane-L®: for correcting moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds. Also suitable for lip augmentation.

What Should I Do Before a Restylane® Treatment?
Restylane® requires little preparation, but we do recommend refraining from alcohol, advil, aleve, ibuprofen, waxing, hair removal creams, and Vitamin E oil for 72 hours before treatment. This helps to minimize bruising, bleeding, and discomfort. Additionally, we recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Rich Castellano of ImageLift® to ensure that Restylane® is a good fit for you.
What is the Restylane® Treatment Like?
Your Restylane® treatment will begin with the application of a topical anesthetic, which numbs the skin to minimize any discomfort that may occur during the injection process. Additionally, some Restylane® formulas also contain lidocaine, a local numbing agent, which further reduces any discomfort during the treatment. Our master injectors will use a fine needle to inject the desired Restylane® formula into the appropriate treatment area. The Restylane® treatment typically takes less than 45 minutes, making it a quick and convenient treatment for anyone with a busy schedule.
Does Restylane® Hurt?
Restylane® treatments are not considered painful, as we offer a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area before injection and some of the Restylane® formulas contain lidocaine to further reduce pain. While you may still feel a small pinch during the injection process, most patients find the Restylane® treatment to be quite tolerable.
What Happens After a Restylane® Treatment?
Restylane® requires no downtime or recovery period, so you’ll be able to resume normal activities immediately after your visit. You may experience some mild swelling or bruising in the treatment area that lasts for a few days after treatment. To ensure a smooth recovery process, we may give you additional post-treatment instructions depending on the Restylane® product administered during treatment.
The results from Restylane® are visible immediately upon injection, and will become more visible as any side effects fade. The duration of your Restylane® results will vary depending on the Restylane® product administered, with results that may last between 6 and 18 months.
