The Liquid Image Lift™ Experience

Image Lift® is about age defiance, not about vanity.

How does the the Liquid Image Lift™ work?

To look behind the scenes and understand what we do, you must understand how we age. Fortunately, this is simple because we age in three ways:

  • Sagging
  • Sun damage and wrinkles to the skin
  • Loss of volume

The Liquid Image Lift™ will help you regenerate the volume we all lose, gently lifting the tissues as your body restores lost collagen. And we lose volume in the face two different ways: Soft tissues (skin, fat, muscle), and the underlying bone. Refer to the diagram on the right –

So here is what happens to each layer of our soft tissue, and it is not pretty:

  1. Skin - The skin will sag, wrinkle, and thin out
  2. Fat - As we age, hormones decrease, and we lose one fat cell at a time, causing the fat pad layers to thin out and sag
  3. Muscle - The muscle layer will attenuate and sag as well

Your friends won’t tell you this, but we will: When we lose volume in the soft tissue layer of our face, we can display a tired, depleted, unapproachable, or even a haggard look.

This is in comparison to losing volume in the bone of our face. When we have bone loss in our face, it makes us look older. As hormones decrease, we become prone to osteoporosis and osteopenia. Very few people realize that we do lose bone in our facial skeleton, and not just in our hips and joints. As you see in the diagram, the bony foundation of our face gradually sinks and collapses to create an aging appearance:

  1. The orbital rim (eye socket) gets larger on the outside as bone wears away
  2. The cheek bone gets thinner, smaller, and flatter
  3. The jaw bone becomes thinner and shrinks
  4. The bone around the upper and lower teeth lessens. This causes a visible “ridge” under our teeth (pull your lower lip down and look in the mirror to see). You don’t see this ridge in children as easily, as they haven’t lost bone. And you can’t rebuild this bone by exercising, going for a walk, or taking medicines.

So what does this have to do with you? This plays a large role in how other people see you and judge your appearance. Our brain is indeed a supercomputer. When we look at people’s faces, we rapidly process a lot of information to make a split-second decision as to whether or not someone is older or younger. We don’t even have to think about it. This is because we focus on specific visual cues when we look at the face: Hollowing of the orbital rim/eye socket, flattening of the cheek bone, and sagging of the neck to name a few.

Now, notice in this picture (right) how the orbital rim (bone around the eye) is evident and showing the changes of aging, and the picture on the right looks younger. We have covered that orbital rim with a Liquid Image Lift™ volume enhancement. This patient also had some tightening performed of her lower neck.

When you cover the signs of aging with the Liquid Image Lift™, it makes you look younger, and no one will know what you did! So what are you waiting for? The timing has never been better.
